Terms of Use
Last updated: 14 July 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to this website and your use of the VerifySignal software (“the Software”). VerifySignal is operated by Rigel Rise (“we”, “us”). By using the site or the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
Two components, two licenses
VerifySignal ships in two parts, and they are licensed differently:
- Spec — the open-source command-line tool and workspace format. It is released under the Apache License 2.0, and that license governs it. Nothing in these Terms restricts the rights Apache-2.0 grants you.
- Core — the signed, proprietary deterministic runtime that executes validations. It is not open source and is licensed to you under these Terms.
License
Core is currently offered free of chargeunder an email unlock: you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run Core on infrastructure you control — your machines and your CI — for your organisation’s internal use, subject to these Terms. A paid tier with additional capabilities is in design and offered today only as a waitlist; its terms and pricing will be stated when it launches.
Entitlement and unlock tokens
We issue an unlock token to the email address you provide, and you activate Core by pasting it into the CLI, which exchanges it for a signed entitlement receipt that renews automatically while you keep using the product. The token is personal to you: it expires 30 days after issue, and you must not share, publish, or redistribute it. You are responsible for activity carried out under your entitlement.
Usage telemetry
The free CLI sends a minimal usage ping when you run a validation (command, outcome, platform, CLI version — never your tested application, code, credentials, or evidence) and renews your entitlement receipt periodically. Both are described in the Privacy Policy, including the documented opt-out for the usage ping.
Acceptable use
- Do not resell, sublicense, or redistribute Core, or offer it as a competing service.
- Do not reverse engineer Core, nor circumvent or tamper with its entitlement checks or signature verification.
- Do not remove or obscure any proprietary notices.
- Do not use the Software unlawfully, or against systems you are not authorised to test.
Intellectual property
Core, this website, and all related trademarks and content remain the property of Rigel Rise and its licensors. Your license grants use only — it does not transfer ownership.
Your data
The Software runs on your own infrastructure. The flows you validate, the evidence Core produces, and the credentials it uses stay with you — we never receive them. You remain responsible for what you point the Software at and for complying with the laws that apply to that data. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle the data you share with us through this site.
Payment
The current product is free; no payment is collected today. When the paid tier launches, prices will be shown on the website and charged through our payment processor, applicable taxes may be added, and any refund eligibility will be stated at the point of purchase.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Software and website are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. VerifySignal proves what you ask it to prove: a passing run means the validation you authored passed deterministically — it is not a warranty that your software is free of defects, secure, or fit for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Software or website will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rigel Rise will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Software or website. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Software.
Termination
This license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Rigel Rise’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
